This week we had the pleasure to attend the DAM FEST Europe 2020 online Event organized by Henry Stewart Event which is now the new normal during this pandemic....

It is always a challenge to gather customers, experts in such virtual event so thanks as usual to Dan Luper and his team for the organization. This year we see best practice and valuable insights direct from experts at Google, Unilever, UEFA, BAFTA, Vogue & Harper's Bazaar, Black Cultural Archives, ATP Media plus some key presentations by vendors like Nuxeo, Widen, CI HUB, Celtra, Open Text...

Thanks to virtual board of the event, I prepared some favourites sessions.

After a quick introduction by Theresa Regli alongside the DAM 2020 Trends

My best session of the day was the one with the ATP use case. Shane Warden, CTO showed us through the evolution of ATP Media’s Digital Workplace and Content Management strategy that maintains its reputation as one of the most advanced global Sports Media services. This use case was very interesting especially regarding the architecture of the global media solution, capturingSharepoint portal and managing heavy broadcast video files with Imagen. If you are looking at the market you do not have so many solutions able to provide such portal, with automation, flexibility and performance.


The other nice use case was the one proposed by Paul Murphy with the European Football - Digital Asset Management Journey.alongside integration-first approach, increased automation, smart utilisation of data and AI, DAM 2.0...DAM 3.0 Especially during the lockdown time that to be creative in order to propose new content online.


Celtra is always providing nice analytics for creative team and during this presentation they talked and shared their insights about the missing link between DAM and Marketing Campaign. So of course they talked the personalisation and the capability of a DAM to manage different transformations linked together and be able to share the same content for a web banner, a print or social....it is all about template management like Chili Publishing is proposing, or other vendors like Brandmaster, Silicon Publishing....


Finally the Nuxeo keynote by Alan Porter was demonstrating how to unlock the Real Value of your Media Assets with AI. Workflow driven, Nuxeo is a smart ECM platform to deliver the right content between all the stakeholders with an entreprise Ecosystem.


Widen, a strong DAM solution explained the strategy for retailers to use DAM and PIM for eretailers.
